In the same breath I was hearing about Kate and Matt getting engaged, I was hearing about their Ironstone Ranch wedding plans. This country-at-heart couple found their bucolic dream venue and fell in love! Lucky for me, before the wedding, we actually made the trip to up to explore the grounds and do their engagement portraits at Ironstone Ranch!

On the wedding day, Kate and her girls got ready in the old farmhouse while Matt and the boys hung out in the man cave beneath the barn. Kate’s mom and sister were actually there on my wedding day doing hair and makeup and the Outlook Salon crew, of course, nailed it again for Kate’s wedding. You’ll see in the pictures- she looked soo flawless.

On a wedding day with so many awesome moments, their apple orchard ceremony was a real standout. They exchanged vows led by a pastor and family friend framed by the small bell tower that’s situated between the apple trees.

After the ceremony we got a chance to hang out with the longhorn cattle in their pen and do a few portraits with them.

I was told they were very gentle and friendly.. but let’s be real, they could pretty easily clobber you on accident with those giant horns! I stayed back, but Matt made friends with one and gave him a scratch on the nose. It was the cutest thing ever.

Did I forget to mention there were two donkeys hanging out at cocktail hour? Kate and Matt’s wedding day was full of surprises.

For the wedding reception, guests were ushered into the rustic barn at Ironstone Ranch for dinner and dancing. The night was so beautiful that the barn doors stayed open and guests wandered in and out to roast marshmallows at the fire pit. The perfect end to an amazing day!
