Jess & Justin went for a warm, simple wedding that was focused on family and celebrating the start of their new life together. The daisy bouquets and converse-clad wedding party totally echoed that fun, laid-back vibe. This was the first time I’d photographed a wedding at Turkey Trac Farms and I loved it! It suited Jess and Justin’s wedding day perfectly.
This wedding was especially special to me because Jess & Justin are friends of me and my husband. (peep the groomsmen pictures and you’ll see him!) We’ve known them for a long time and have seen their relationship grow. Alex and I were both super excited to watch them begin their lives together!
It’s so rare that I get to see the journey to the altar so personally before the wedding day. Knowing that these two have their hearts in the right place and had been preparing for marriage together made me that much more excited for them to finally get to be husband and wife.
Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held on the grounds of Turkey Trac Farms under the covered ceremony space and was lead by the pastor at our church. Since Jess & Justin kept things traditional and opted not to do a first look, everybody was looking from Jess to Justin to catch his expression!
One major moment that Jess and her family had been looking forward to was her walk down the aisle with her dad. A few years ago, Jess’s dad was injured in an accident where he lost the use of his legs. Ever since that time, he’s been working toward regaining his stride and, with Jess’s wedding in mind, he’d been determined to make that once in a lifetime trip down the aisle with her on his own two feet.
Reception
Both Jess and Justin have very strong connections with their families and both of them had really specially moments during the reception with their parents. There wasn’t a dry eye as Justin danced with his mom or when Jess danced with her dad. Jess also got to share a catch with her dad again for first time in years. Too sweet!
With the openness of the barn reception and the weather being so perfect, dinner mingled inside and outside and the party too! Guests enjoyed some amazing food before dancing the night away under a cafe-lighted dance floor.
Jess and Justin, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! I love you both and am so happy and excited for you guys as you forge your own path together!
