One of my favorite parts of being a destination wedding photographer is getting to work in new places and meet wonderful couples from all over the country. Cait and Sean first found me on social media and we connected right away! I had never been to Cape Cod before then, but I fell in love with the quiet, slow charm of it when I first went up for their engagement session.
Cait and Sean have deep ties and countless summer memories here, so it made perfect sense to host their wedding weekend on Cape Cod. The girls and guys got ready in neighboring shore houses and spent the day celebrating by the water.
Even though their wedding at West Dennis Yacht Club on Cape Cod featured included an elegant design of toile, chinoiserie, and a champagne tower, they somehow managed to make the day feel like as east as a backyard picnic. That has everything to do with Cait and Sean’s genuine, open personalities, I think.
As the sun set on Cape Cod, we took a few moments to do some sunset wedding portraits on the dock. With the sun lower in the sky, the true colors of the marshes came to light. I always love sunset portraits. With the big events of the day out of the way, the mood is always reflective and romantic.
I’m so grateful to tell these love stories. I think about how lucky I am every day to get to bear witness to so many important, joyful milestones for my clients.
I’m hoping me and my camera find ourselves back on Cape Cod for another wedding some time soon.
