Brooke & Andrew | Appleford Estate Wedding

Brooke & Andrew’s wedding was held at Appleford Estate in Villanova. Alongside some of my favorite images from their summer garden party, I asked them some questions about their wedding and how they remember their day.

Of all the things you loved about your day, what do you think was your best idea? The very best idea I had for our wedding day was deciding not to do a first look. I know some brides don’t have the ability to do so given photography timelines, but we were able to swing it and we are both so glad we did. Seeing Andrew for the first time as I walked down the aisle is something I’ll truly remember forever.

My favorite memory from our wedding day was seeing Andrew’s face when I came down the aisle. We chose not to do a first look and so it was just pure emotion on his face I got to take in. That coupled with the string quartet rendition of Mia & Sebastian’s song from LaLa land, my aisle song, is a memory that will stay in my head for all the years to come!

Which of your design decisions was your favorite? Surprisingly, I’d say our flowers! I wanted them to compliment the beautiful grounds of the Appleford Estate venue, not compete with it. Margot did such an incredible job with our baby’s breath center piece for the head table. I felt like that was a really unique decision because while an understated flower, when used in bulk they really make a statement! I got a lot of feedback from our guests on how beautiful that was with the candles and the table cloth. A runner up would be the floral alter ceremony pillars that she did for us as well – I mean, stunning!

You get to relive one moment from the day, which would you choose? For sure, eating the wedding cake with Andrew at the end of the night. We were inside the venue and it was the first quite moment we’d had together in hours. We were just laughing and sharing some of our favorite moments from the day. It was really beautiful moment of pause to take it all in. And also, I’d do anything to eat that cake again (dark chocolate and hazelnut, yum?!?!)

What did your guests talk about the most? The quality of the food and my dress were the most talked about elements of our day! Sage Catering blew us away at our tasting so we knew they would kill it on our wedding day – everything was incredible. My dress was a surprise to most people because it was really unique, everyone said that it was classy but sexy, and the sleeves just made it pop. I knew it was the one right when I put it on – and in hind sight I think it tied together so beautifully with our flowers as well.

Brooke & Andrew’s wedding at Appleford Estate was such a fun one to photograph. There are a lot of garden parties on my calendar for a reason! The romance and the laid back mingling that happens in the garden always makes for the perfect summer gathering.

told artfully, in detail.
