OK my friend, hear me when I say Shana and Jeff’s wedding at Bast Brothers Garden Center in Mullica Hill was a-mazing. Like, I just need you to know that it was one of the most perfect weddings that I have ever been to in my entire life.
These past few months I’ve been really reflecting on weddings and the meaning in the day, and what it represents- the necessary things, the unnecessary things. So, in the process of thinking about all this simple wedding stuff I met Shana and her friend Nicole at a coffee shop. Shana got engaged this past spring and was planning a wedding for early this September. They planned to be wed at their home church before joining an intimate gathering of guests for a sit down dinner in the greenhouse at Bast Brothers. The more we talked about all the things that Shana wanted to her wedding day to be, the more I was really excited to be a part of it.
And, let me tell you, this weekend, Shana and Jeff totally pulled off this perfectly simple, intimate wedding day and did it with grace and elegance. At the center of the day, it was all about the two of them and the covenant that they were making and the beautiful relationship they have with their family. Without all the extra fluff that usually comes along with wedding days, the focus was where it should be and the occasion was not a drop less joyful. I just can’t describe to you how much I love this couple and how much I respect the way that they chose to plan their wedding.
Before the sun disappeared, we headed out on the grounds to do some portraits of Shana and Jeff. They are so fun together and so affectionate. They just light up each other’s world. It’s always so fun to work with couples like that.
Beyond Shana and Jeff being so lovely, it was also amazing to be able to wander around Bast Brothers for portraits. If you’ve ever been, you’ll know that it’s seriously cute and photo opportunities are everywhere.
Inside the greenhouse for their wedding reception at Bast Brothers, they had tables that were decorated with flowers and terrariums, moss, little fern type things. I obviously I can’t fully describe to you how cute it was, so you’ll have to look at the pictures to get the whole effect! Guests enjoyed a four course meal seated at one long family style table and topped off the whimsical evening in the greenhouse with cannoli cake!
Shana and Jeff, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! You and your family were so welcoming and kind and I’m glad to have met you all! I loved celebrating with you, and cannoli cake 😉! God bless you in all the sweet days to come.
