From their outdoor ceremony to the guest pet appearances, Lisa & Dan’s autumn wedding at Eagle Manor was so perfectly them!
While most grooms kick it in a hotel room before the wedding, Dan and the wedding party spent the morning shooting sporting clays over the river in flannels and sweatshirts. Eagle Manor is a neat place for a wedding because you have the mansion and the property for a few days and the atmosphere really lends itself to the kind of laid-back, friends and family kind of wedding weekend Lisa & Dan planned.
Lisa and Dan had their first look out in the meadow. You can’t beat the muted yet colorful landscape of fall. The bridesmaids wore dark, rust-colored orange dresses and the men wore orange ties with tan suits. Lisa & Dan’s wedding party was a lot of fun, as you’ll see in the pictures! 😀
One special idea Lisa & Dan incorporated was to have necklaces made from Dan’s late father’s wedding band. Dan wore one around his neck and gifted the other one to his sister that day. I’ve never seen anything like that before. It was such a meaningful and fitting tribute!
The wedding ceremony was held outdoors and overlooked the Cohansey River. It was said during the wedding ceremony that part of what makes Lisa & Dan’s relationship so special is the way they respect and encourage each other’s activities and passions.
I loved that on their wedding day we got to see little parts of who they are and what they both love! Dan asked some of his baseball team to come help out with the wedding; busing tables and directing cars. Lisa had her horse there (also named Dan!), and they had their adorable puppy Miles be their ring bearer.
After the ceremony, Lisa’s Maid-of-Honor, Krista, surprised her by having her horse brought to Eagle Manor. Fun fact: Lisa met her horse before she met her husband and he also happens to be named Dan!
Lisa was so surprised and happy to see four-legged Dan make a special appearance. I photographed Krista’s wedding a few years ago. We have some really sweet wedding day pictures of her and Lisa with Krista’s horse too!

After cocktail hour on the deck, the wedding reception was held in the old dairy barn at Eagle Manor. The inside was festooned with plenty of cafe lights, rustic accents and simple greenery on long tables. For dinner, what else could be on the menu but BBQ?!
