Lauren & Chris | Scotland Run Wedding

Lauren & Chris’s wedding at Scotland Run was perfect! We started the day off with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite while the guys filed in downstairs to straighten ties and clasp cufflinks. How pretty are their wedding day details?!

First Look and Wedding Portraits

The first look is always a challenging location to scout photo-wise. You need an area big enough to get the whole scene, but also one that is well lit and pretty from at least 3 different angles. This is what lead us to the unconventional choice to do wedding portraits under the car port outside Scotland Run! Some people see a driveway; I see pops of fall foliage, framing architectural elements and golden backlighting!

As far as first looks go, this had to be one of my favorite of the year. I mean, come on! Chris’s reaction to seeing Lauren for the first time as a bride was priceless! There’s always a lot of nervous energy at the beginning of a wedding day, but as soon as they saw each other it was all joy and giggly smiles.

Wedding Party Portraits

Before the ceremony, Lauren and her bridesmaids were absolute champs when it came to portrait time. From their expressions I know you’re imagining a fresh, 60 something day in early November, but let me tell you friends.. it was like in the low 40s with a frosty wind chill. Now look at the pictures again. Don’t they look totally relaxed and happy? True professionals! The things you do for your best friend on her wedding day 🙂

Even though their wedding was in November, the palette Lauren and Chris chose for their wedding had this super elegant, early winter feel to it. I love the way the muted landscape compliments the slate blue dresses, cream flowers and gray suits they chose!

I’d also like to point out that Lauren and Chris’s wedding party is the perfect example of why it really doesn’t matter whether or not you have an even number of bridesmaids and groomsmen! It’s way more important that you pick the right people than the right number, plus, they looked amazing in the pictures anyway!

Wedding Ceremony | Scotland Run Golf Course

Lauren and Chris’s wedding was held in the outdoor ceremony space at Scotland Run. Guests were greeted with drinks on their way in and snuggled up to gas heaters during the sunset ceremony. I love the way the altar was set up with all the lights and pretty flowers. It definitely felt like a cozy setting. You could tell how excited their guests were for them by all the smiles, happy tears and laughter that broke out! Vows were read, rings were exchanged, and the commitment was punctuated by a kiss!

Wedding Reception | Scotland Run Golf Course

After the ceremony, the rest of the night’s wedding festivities were held inside the ballroom at Scotland Run. I’ve got to say, from start to finish, this was just a really light, joyful day celebrated with a super fun group of people. Between dances and toasts and partying on the dance floor, the energy of the night was a blast. Lauren and Chris were just so over-the-moon happy to be married and to be with one another! They have a great connection and their crazy love for one another was obvious to anyone in the room. I couldn’t imagine a better day!
