Emily & Zach’s Lawnhaven at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn wedding was the epitome of a perfect winter affair. There was hot chocolate, warm blankets, a fireside wedding ceremony.. not to mention snow on the ground!
It. was. lovely.
In talking to Emily and Zach, one thing they wanted their wedding to be was warm and inviting and they most certainly got that. The setting itself was very cozy with the venue feeling a bit like a wooden lodge in the mountains. Adding to that warmth, Emily and Zach dotted pieces of their history and personalities into the details and events in a way that felt very personal and special.
In her bouquet Emily carried an old family prayer book; In his vest, Zach carried a restored family pocket watch. They even had a borrowed wedding bell atop their cake! One of my favorite details they chose to include was a piece of music composed by a dearly missed family member, played at the reception.
I love when couples take the time to think about stuff like that. Weddings don’t need to be unique for the sake of being unique, but when you’re intentional and thoughtful in planning, your family and guests take notice.
Side note; there was also some real Eagles green vs. Steelers yellow vibes happening in the wedding wardrobe. I was told this was mostly coincidental.. but I’m not buying it 😉 I wore my forest green dress in support (go birds).
One of the cool things about their wedding day was that it was all onsite! Lawnhaven at Stroudsmoor Country Inn has a bridal salon on the premise for wedding days, there are cabins for guests to stay in, and of course, the ceremony and reception were all steps away. This, combined with an easy-going couple made for a very relaxed day. Emily and Zach wanted to keep things traditional, so no first look! We snuck away after the ceremony to check out the rotunda overlooking the snowy vista. It was just perfect. Emily and Zach really have a natural chemistry and are always making each other laugh. They made my job way too easy! I had so much fun hanging out with them!
