Megan & Dylan’s wedding at Immaculate Conception Church and Eastlyn Golf Course this December was such a joy to photograph! I’m telling you guys, winter weddings might be my new favorite thing. No one’s sweating to death first of all, not to mention candlelit ceremonies on a dark winter’s evening always feel super romantic and cozy! Keeping with the winter theme, Megan incorporated navy and forest green in their wedding party’s attire and added little frosty touches and evergreen sprigs to the flowers and decor. It felt very classic December without going full Christmas. I loved it! To keep her bridesmaids warm, Megan gifted them plaid wraps which tied in bit of color and were super practical the day of the wedding.
Because it gets darks so early this month, they did a first look before the ceremony in the little courtyard by the church. The stone facade of the church and evergreen trees made it the perfect backdrop for pictures. I give these two a lot of credit for braving the frosty weather and for making it look so effortless!
I was especially excited to photograph Megan and Dylan’s wedding because Megan and I go wayy back from Girl Scouts to swim team all through high school and Dylan himself is also a long time classmate from back in the day. It was awesome to celebrate this amazing milestone with the two of them and it was neat to see so many familiar faces at the wedding.
Ask anyone who knows Megan and Dylan and they’ll say ‘I just love those two’ or ‘they’re so sweet!’- It’s universal. I was joking with one of the bridesmaids that even on her wedding day Megan was asking me if I needed anything/ wanted something to eat or drink. Whatever the opposite of a bridezilla is, that’s Megan.
Because they’re such loving and giving people, the folks gathered at the church and at Eastlyn Golf Course were just so excited and happy to see the two of them find love in each other and set out to build a beautiful life of their own. When two people who put others before themselves get together, I think that’s something really special.
Megan & Dylan, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your wedding day! I’m so happy for the two of you and can’t wait to see how God uses your marriage to bless the world around you! Best wishes on the journey ahead and many happy years to come!
