Before the Wedding | The Carriage House
Derek and Meredith began their day in their respective suites at the Carriage House. They both had a lot of friends and family on their squad so it worked out really well to have everyone in those spacious rooms. Before they got together for their first look they wrote notes for each other to read separately. I always love when couples make time for little special moments on their wedding day!
First Look & Portraits
Something magic happens when the bride and groom finally get to be with each other on their wedding day. All the stress and jitters go out the door when you’re standing next to your favorite person. Meredith and Derek are so much fun together. From their first look onward, their smiles never left their cheeks! And, can I just remind you that this wedding was in February?! They definitely had to cozy up to stay warm for these portraits, but it was totally worth braving the 20-some degree weather. Also, from a photography standpoint, the super wide porches and bright foyer at the Carriage House made their portraits effortless to shoot!
Wedding Ceremony & Reception | The Carriage House
Meredith and Derek’s ceremony was held in one of the ballrooms at the Carriage House. Friend (and kind of cousin) of the couple, Tyler, performed the wedding. Ceremonies are always my favorite part of the day; They’re solemn and sweet and in this case, there were a few good laughs mixed in too.
The reception was held in the main ballroom which was decorated with neutral florals and muted greenery. I’m not sure if it was just for their wedding or not, but the Carriage House had little tea light candles lining the balconies of the ballroom which I thought was a really romantic touch.
Meredith and Derek, thank you for inviting me to capture your wedding day! It was a joy to get to know you and to be there on the day you said yes to forever! Best wishes on your journey together!
