There’s nothing more romantic than a summer wedding in Newport. (September still counts as late summer, right?). Ella & Jon’s coastal wedding day at Newport Harbor Island Resort was absolutely dreamy.

New England weddings have a easy elegance about them- unfussy black-tie. September in Newport, RI was also the setting of JFK’s wedding to Jacqueline Bouvier. Newport is an American classic!

I always spend the first part of the day gathering visual details on film. Sailboats, gleaming water, and blue skies played nicely with their all white florals.

I think Ella & Jon’s first look and private vows had us all choked up. You get to know people’s hearts on their wedding day, their love stories. It’s a privileged experience.

Their dog, Steve also made a celebrity appearance at Newport Harbor Island for their wedding day. I’ve seen a lot of dogs at weddings, but honestly, not one as obsessed over as Steve!

This was truly one for the books. From the weather and scenery, to the family and friends who made it so fun, it’s hard to imagine this day being any better than the way it all turned out!
