There’s no better way to start a marriage than with a light breeze on an August afternoon beneath fuzzy skies watching the Delaware River push little boats and birds along. The setting at the Inn at Salem Country Club on the morning of Laura and KC’s wedding gave you a sense of ease and peace.

When I talked to Laura at the beginning of their wedding planning process, she described wanting a day that wasn’t too fussy. As two people who don’t crave the spotlight, both her and KC planned their wedding day to be laid back and enjoyable. After the ceremony, the lawn was turned over for games and relaxing. On the deck overlooking the river, guests gathered outside to sip drinks as the sun went down.

Inside the Inn, Savannah’s Garden did the florals, not only for the bouquets, but they also adorned the tables and banisters with beautiful flowers and greenery. I love that Laura chose creams and greens to compliment her girls’ blue gowns, and with the soft neutral palette of the reception, the inn really took on a coastal European vibe.

I loved having the chance to work with Laura & KC again after doing their engagement pictures last winter. They really are so sweet together and their natural chemistry and connection means that they’re always laughing and smiling together. I was told at the beginning that neither of them were crazy about having their picture taken, but I’ve got to say, when these two are together nothing else seems to matter.

As the sky mellowed behind the Inn at Salem Country Club and we headed out for a moment to take pictures by the water, we kind of joked about whether or not the Delaware River was a romantic wedding location. I kind of think it is- at least on this day it was.
