On the morning of their wedding, I was checking my notes to see what room the girls were getting ready in when I heard a noise that convinced me I was headed in the right direction. That laughter and music blaring from the girls room at end of the hall pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day. From start to finish, there was plenty of laughing, dancing, and so many happy tears on Jess and John’s wedding day.
On a perfect Saturday in October, Jess and John celebrated their marriage at Edel Haus Farm in Wall, NJ surrounded by family and friends. Tree tops were turning yellow, the weather was cooling off, and clouds spread over the sun to shade our eyes for their outdoor ceremony.
For their autumn, berry-colored wedding, Jess and John’s decor was really fun. It felt classic and beautiful while incorporating a few off-beat touches you might expect from a wedding at an alpaca farm! I especially loved the oriental rugs they used as their aisle runners and the succulents that were tucked into Jess’s bouquet.
Between the barn and all the decorations that had been set up for the ceremony, we had no shortage of autumn inspired backdrops for us to work with. One of the alpacas even joined us for a few photos! Of course, Jess and John are so natural together and they’re constantly making each other laugh, so we had a lot of fun doing portraits of just the two of them.
One of my favorite parts of the day was before the ceremony when John got his first look at his bride. As you can see from the pictures, it was all smiles and teary eyes. It was no mystery why John got all choked up, as Jess was a vision in her lacy off-the-shoulder gown and waterfall curls. Don’t worry, even though they did a first look, it didn’t stop Jess’s walk down the aisle from being any less emotional!
Jess and John were so fun together during our engagement session, I hoped their wedding day would be just as awesome, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
Jess and John, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your wedding day! I’m wishing the both of you all the best in your life as newlyweds and wishing you many more National Park adventures as husband and wife!
