Emily and Daniel’s October wedding at Oakbourne Mansion was full of unexpected surprises and lots of genuine joy. When rain showed up in the forecast, Emily and I touched base about everything. I told her I wasn’t worried and I could tell she wasn’t either!
Even though the rain changed up the schedule, we were able to capture some beautiful portraits of everyone inside the mansion before the ceremony.
Wedding Ceremony | Oakbourne Mansion
As the rain fell that morning, their outdoor wedding ceremony was relocated to a cozy room at the other end of the mansion. Emily wore a handmade shawl that was a gift from her new mother-in-law and the guests were given blankets as a wedding favor! A family friend presided over the nuptials which was so personal and sweet! Daniel and Emily were just so happy to be getting married that day!
Walking Cocktail Reception | Oakbourne Mansion
After their wedding ceremony, Emily and Daniel decided on a wandering extended cocktail hour! Rather than going through the formalities and dances, they had toasts on the porch and then their guests were free to mix and mingle for the afternoon. Light bites, sweets and a buffet were set up throughout the mansion as well as games indoors and outside. Emily and Daniel hired a mobile bar service which was set up outside the mansion.
By the grace of God, the weather cleared up just in time to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful fall colors after the wedding ceremony! The park around Oakbourne Mansion is so scenic that we had no trouble finding locations for wedding portraits. These two could not stop making each other giggle!
